“We just locked in our largest customer” exclaimed one of our clients the last time we were visiting with them in their offices.

Our client is a mid-sized player in the financial industry competing against the giants of their industry, but their goal is the same as their competition… developing customer loyalty. Since they are mid-sized, they don’t have the same resources as the giants in the industry. In order to maintain their current customer base and continue to grow, though, they needed to offer some of the same enhanced services as their larger counterparts.

One of the key offerings of the larger companies is a customer extranet. These extranets house the details of customer properties and the status of their property tax issues as well as a history of past properties. Many times each client will have numerous properties and tax issues going on simultaneously in need of constant updating. Most of these systems would be out of reach financially for our client, but, since we specialize in developing applications for mid-sized companies, we were able to work with them and create an affordable system that duplicated the essence of what the more expensive systems offered.

The system we worked with them to develop has been very well received since its launch. In fact, their largest customer is so enamored with the program that he would be hard pressed to leave our customer for any of their competitors. Their new system allows…

• Thirteen account executives around the country to enter details for their properties from a web based interface

• Customers to view the status of any of their current properties as well as a project history

• A custom configuration of thirty five database fields allows the account executives to enter all the data that is relevant to their customer

• Management, account executives and clients are all coded to allow each individual to see only the information that they are allowed to access
